As soon as I had made my first phone call with Lilley Funeral Directors, I knew they would be the right people to look after my Dad. Nothing has been too much trouble. Charlotte has taken care of absolutely everything for us in organising Dad’s funeral and had been absolutely amazing. In what has been a stressful and upsetting time, they have made things so much easier than we expected them to be. They are a genuine lovely family run business who we can’t recommend highly enough.

Thanks for all you and your team did for us in arranging and managing Aunt Win’s funeral in such a dignified way. All the family and friends agreed that it was the most moving ceremony we had ever been to. Lilley Funeral Directors were perfect in every way and I am so glad I chose you to conduct my Aunt’s funeral. I wanted a family business, local to where she lived and I got more than that. I was steered to them by a member of my immediate family, who had already been a very satisfied customer, and I’m so glad that I chose Lilley’s to say goodbye to Mum. I went to visit a couple of other funeral directors in the local area, but Lilley’s were head and shoulders above in terms care and compassion to my mind.

The attention to detail, ability to cope with almost any request, and the overall level of service was sublime. Nothing was too much trouble and they were always on hand, day or night, to deal with any queries or concerns. I honestly can’t think of a better way, or group of people to help you out in such an emotional and complicated time. Even down to letting some of my friends and family visit Mum at the weekend out of traditional working hours they were always there to lend a hand and ease the process of saying goodbye.

The team at Lilley Funeral Directors offered an excellent service. They were thoughtful and respectful in their approach and went above and beyond to ensure that we received the best service. From the organisational details of every aspect of my father’s death to the driving of the cars, each aspect was carried out to a high professional standard. Nothing was too much trouble whether it was dealing with the graveyard or organising an online video streaming service – they even contacted a local business successfully to ask, on our behalf, if we could use their car parking spaces for funeral attendees. Their organisation and communication was excellent. On the day of the funeral they delivered a fine service, again, going above and beyond with a gift of remembrance candles for guests. What was an emotional day for our family was made so much easier by the excellent service given by Scott, Charlotte, George, Reece, Anna and Ian. Highly recommended

It can be really challenging to find a good honest funeral director that doesn’t over charge or bolt on services you do not require. Having significant event management experience I had already created an outline plan of the day. All I needed was a funeral director who was flexible with strong communication skills that could help me bring the day to life. Whilst the company had not organised that many funerals at the City of London Cemetery their personal service and attention to detail was exceptional. I particularly enjoyed working with Charlotte who was able to contribute to my outline plan and navigate her way around a particularly challenging cemetery office who were not very good at returning calls or messages. No task was too large or small as the company successfully removed my Mothers wedding ring returning it to me as a keepsake. They were also available to respond to calls, emails and Zoom meetings at short notice.

Hopefully it will be along time before I need to arrange another funeral but if I do I know exactly where to go. To sum up my experience, in a world where there are lots of jackals looking to take advantage of the purse strings of grieving families I am thankful to have found a hardworking honest family business that cares about the customers it serves.

Our funeral for our daughter was done beautifully and gracefully.
